About Us
Aviation Security Command (AVSECOM) is the national authority responsible for providing aviation security in the Maldives. Serve across all Maldivian airports. Evolved from basic Airport Guards (1966) to a modern security command under the Ministry of Defence in 2013.

Ensures passengers and their carry-on/hand luggage are checked for prohibited items (e.g., weapons, explosives) using X-ray machines, metal detectors.
Cargo and Mail Security Screening
Involves rigorous inspection of air cargo, freight, and mail transported on aircraft. Techniques like explosive detection systems (EDS)
Access Control to Secure Areas
Restricts entry to sensitive zones (e.g., runways, control towers, baggage handling) using biometric verification, ID badges, and surveillance.
Airport Perimeter and Infrastructure Protection
